  • Alternative Press posted one of the first reviews of The Swellers' new album Good For Me. Click HERE to read the full thing and don't forget to pick up your copy of it next Tuesday! AP compares the album to Descendents, Weezer, The Ataris and Foo Fighters:

"The band proudly wear their influences on their collective sleeve throughout Good For Me’s 35 minutes, dealing in buoyant, Descendents-esque pop-punk and sludgy, stomping midtempo rock a la Weezer’s Pinkerton. “Runaways” and “The Best I Ever Had” recall the effortless, bouncy pop-rock of the Ataris ca. So Long Astoria, while “The Damage” and “Nothing More To Me” are cut from the same modern-rock cloth on which Foo Fighters built their empire."

  • “Nothing More To Me” is set during the 1953 tornado that devastated Flint, Michigan. The focus of the song, however, is that of a relationship gone sour and the couple trying to mend things during such a disaster, as if the storm is almost a second nuisance. With times as tough as they are now, it’s just crazy that people have to deal with their houses being torn apart on top of everything else going on. The timing of us releasing/recording this song is very eerie, but hopefully it’s a reminder that things just got a lot tougher for all of us and people need your help.
